3.
Boon of Iron-Clad: if Boon of Iron-Clad is used, sorcerers are basically invulnerable for a while. It will create a solid protective shield to block physical damage and stuns and increase Aether's Hold resistance value by 1000. To put it simple, if your opponent makes a mistake in combo attack (Delayed Blast+ Aether’s Hold), it will be a great opportunity for you to resist Aether’s Hold, Ice Chain and Frozen Shock by using Boon of Iron-Clad.

Sleep and
Curse of Roots: this skill shines bright because it can increase a target’s resistance by 500 to 600. According to experimental data, 2900 damage will be taken when you don’t have any shield to absorb damage dealt by Inferno strike and 500 damage will be inflicted when you have a shield to block damage from Inferno attacks. If you engage in PvP combat with no shield available and having Curse of Roots stigmas equipped, Inferno will only deal out 1400 damage. You can even bring more damage to a target through Flame Harpoon instead of unleashing Inferno attacks. A target will be able to mitigate all the damage if it is equipped with a shield and Curse of Roots. I just can’t keep a straight face when I see someone try to burn a sleeping target by using Inferno. In the newest patch 1.5 for Aion, no matter how far a target is away from you, you will be able to bring it under your control once you fill up half the bar.
5.
Illusion: this skill will enable you to evade the next 2 physical attacks. Some Sorcerers just make me want to scream at the top of my lung when they dash toward me and start a duel with me by using this skill as the first hit. They may have no idea that Illusion can be used to remove debuffs on themselves. It is like a small yellow potion and can help you remove movement speed and fire dragon debuffs. I have witnessed a Sorcerer who was hit by fire dragon during the cool down on using another red potion and nearly dead. I was yelling inside my head “try out Illusion”. As a Sorcerer, you must have thorough understanding of your skills.
6.
Illusion Storm: Its stunning effect range is within 10 meters. I don’t know why Shanda, the Chinese publisher for Aion, makes it 15 meters.
7.
Blind Leap: this skill can be used to remove an immobilization effect or movement speed debuffs on yourself. If you are crippled in combat, you can Blink Leap backwards away from your opponent to pull off a quick escape in the heat of the moment. When a target is hiding behind a barrier or you are unable to swing at a target 30 meters away, you can Blind Leap forward to enter the aggro radius or take a Blind Leap to detour around the barrier to reach your prey.
When you try to parry melee attacks, you can make a narrow escape by getting catapulted into the sky, releasing the skill while holding W key, closing your wings, taking a blind leap and opening you wings.
8.
Soul Freeze: this skill would become much more useful if your opponent was unable to remove the freezing effect by using yellow potions. There are two ways to stop your opponent’s heals with Soul Freeze. You can use this skill to interrupt an opponent's combo, and then have Curse of Roots equipped. Or you can bring a target under your control first, unleash Flame Fusion and then cast Soul Freeze. Once the shield breaks, the target will pull the plug on his sleep. Even though your target uses yellow potion to remove the first two debuff effects, he still can’t remove the silence effect.
9. You have to keep three Assassin’s dodge status indicators and Spiritmaster’s Resistance Deed (a new item in the latest AION) and Substitution indicators in mind. If a Spiritmaster summons a Fire Spirit in PVP combat, you must annihilate the Fire Spirit through Frozen Shock first before you try to stun the Spiritmaster. It is because a single combo hit by Ice Chain and Frozen Shock can’t knock out the Spiritmaster with a Fire Spirit to team up with. Fear spells will deal damage to a target within 25m. The Spiritmaster can also use Fear Shriek to transform enemies within a 15m radius of him. Never complain that the Spiritmasters always outpower you before you get familiar with their skills and tactics.
10. Even though you are the first to attack, never let a Sorcerer be within a 15m radius of you. Or your plan to swipe at him will backfire and you will be seriously hit by his AoE stun.
11. For a Sorcerer, a shield is important. When you start a duel with a Sorcerer, once the shield break, the Sorcerer will be out of the sleep mode. With a shield up for defense, you can’t stun a Sorcerer. A shield will help a Sorcerer to be immune to Inferno and DP hits.

These skills are the bread and butter for Aion's Sorcerer class. Hope this article can help you grow out of the newbie levels as soon as possible.
P.S. this are just guidelines i got from chinese websites, and its for chinese version, so in NA or EU version it might change...
